TNG NFC Ring – FAQ

You Ask, We Answer

What is TNG NFC Ring?

TNG NFC Ring is a wearable NFC ring designed to work like a TNG NFC card in a ring form. Instead of taking out your card, you simply wear the ring and tap it at supported Touch ’n Go readers.

It is made for people who want a cleaner, faster and more convenient tap experience for daily use.

Where can I use the TNG NFC Ring?

You can use it at supported Touch ’n Go terminals such as:

  • Toll lanes
  • Parking terminals
  • MRT / LRT / public transport gates
  • Other supported Touch ’n Go card readers

Usage may depend on the reader condition, system status, card balance and compatibility at the terminal.

Is this an official Touch ’n Go product?

No. TNG NFC Ring by tapje.la is a custom wearable NFC product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially produced by Touch ’n Go Sdn Bhd.

Touch ’n Go, TNG and related trademarks belong to their respective owners.

How does the TNG NFC Ring work?

The ring uses NFC technology, similar to how a TNG NFC card works. When you tap the ring on a supported reader, the system reads the NFC chip inside the ring.

For best results, tap the ring properly and hold it steady for 5–7 seconds on the reader area.

Do I still need my TNG card?

Once your TNG NFC Ring is activated and working, you can use the ring for supported tap transactions.

However, we still recommend keeping your original card or a backup payment method with you, especially when travelling, using older terminals or entering places with strict system requirements.

Can I top up the TNG NFC Ring?

Yes, top-up depends on the original NFC card compatibility and Touch ’n Go system support.

For NFC-enabled cards, you may be able to reload using the Touch ’n Go eWallet app through NFC-enabled smartphones. Availability may depend on your phone model, app version and card status.

Can I use the ring if my phone battery is dead?

Yes. The ring does not need a phone battery, Bluetooth, WiFi or charging to work.

It works passively through NFC, just like a contactless card.

Does the ring need charging?

No. The TNG NFC Ring does not use a battery and does not require charging.

Is the ring waterproof?

The ring is designed for normal daily use and can handle light water exposure such as hand washing.

However, we recommend avoiding prolonged soaking, hot water, harsh chemicals, swimming pools, sauna, strong detergents or heavy impact to protect the finishing and NFC performance.

Can I wear it every day?

Yes. The ring is designed for daily wearable use.

For longer lifespan, avoid dropping it, bending it, exposing it to strong chemicals or using it during heavy-duty work.

How do I choose the correct ring size?

Please check your ring size carefully before placing an order.

You can use our ring size guide, visit our fitting session if available, or measure an existing ring that fits your finger comfortably.

Because the ring is custom-made, wrong size selection cannot be exchanged, replaced or refunded once production has started.

What happens after I place an order?

After your order is confirmed, our team will guide you through the next steps via WhatsApp.

You may be required to send the compatible card to the address provided by tapje.la. Delivery cost to send the card to us is borne by the customer.

Once we receive the card, production and conversion will begin.

Who is this ring suitable for?

TNG NFC Ring is suitable for people who want a more minimal and convenient tap experience, especially daily commuters, drivers, parking users and people who prefer not to take out their card every time.

How long does production take?

Production usually takes 14–21 business days after we receive complete order details.

The timeline may vary depending on order volume, ring size availability, production queue and quality checking.

Can I change my ring size after ordering?

You may request a size change only if production has not started.

Once production begins, the ring size cannot be changed because each unit is custom-made based on the confirmed size.

What if the ring cannot be detected at a reader?

Please make sure:

  • The ring is tapped directly on the reader area
  • You hold it steady for 5–7 seconds
  • Your balance is sufficient
  • The terminal is working properly
  • You have tapped in and tapped out correctly for transit usage

Some terminals may have weaker reader sensitivity or system errors. If the issue continues, you may need to check with the relevant station, parking operator or Touch ’n Go support channel.

Why does it show “Invalid Card” or “Please Go to Counter”?

This may happen due to several possible reasons such as incomplete tap-in/tap-out, insufficient balance, system error, reader issue or card status issue.

For public transport, if you forget to tap out, the system may require reset or assistance at the counter.

Can the ring guarantee 100% successful tap every time?

No wearable NFC product can guarantee 100% success at every terminal.

Performance may depend on the reader strength, tapping angle, system condition, card status, balance and terminal compatibility.

Can I use it for all Touch ’n Go services?

The ring is designed to work with supported Touch ’n Go NFC card readers.

However, availability may vary depending on the terminal, system rules and service provider. Some services may require the original card, app verification or manual checking.

Is the balance stored inside the ring?

The ring works based on the NFC card data inside the ring. Balance and transaction handling follow the Touch ’n Go system and supported card functionality.

tapje.la does not control the Touch ’n Go system, balance records, transaction approval or account status.

Can tapje.la check or control my TNG balance?

No. tapje.la does not have access to your Touch ’n Go account, transaction history, eWallet, personal balance or banking information.

Is my data safe?

The ring only functions as a wearable NFC medium based on the compatible card used. We do not access, store or manage your Touch ’n Go account balance, eWallet login or payment credentials.

Is this product ready stock or pre-order?

Availability depends on the current batch. Please check the product page for the latest stock or pre-order status.

Can I refund or cancel my order?

Because the TNG NFC Ring is custom-made, cancellation, refund or exchange is not available once production has started.

Please confirm your ring size, order details and product understanding before placing your order.

What if my ring is damaged?

If the ring is damaged due to manufacturing defects, please contact our team for checking.

Damage caused by misuse, impact, wrong handling, chemical exposure, modification, water soaking or normal wear and tear is not covered.

Can I transfer the ring to someone else?

The ring may be physically used by another person, but responsibility for usage, balance, card ownership and transaction activity remains with the customer/card owner.

Please use it responsibly.

What is the difference between TNG NFC Ring, TNG Visa Card and Bank Visa Card

These are three different types of cards, and each one works differently.

TNG Visa Card
This is a prepaid Visa card linked to your Touch ’n Go eWallet balance. It can be used for Visa-supported payments such as retail purchases, online payments and selected payment terminals, depending on the card’s terms and supported merchants.

Bank Visa Card
This is a Visa debit or credit card issued by a bank. A debit card usually uses money from your bank account, while a credit card uses a credit facility provided by the bank. Usage, limits, approval and security are controlled by the issuing bank.

TNG NFC Card/ Ring
This refers to the enhanced Touch ’n Go card with NFC technology. It is commonly used for toll, parking, public transport and selected Touch ’n Go touchpoints. The balance is stored on the card, and it can be reloaded using Touch ’n Go eWallet if the card and phone support NFC.

In simple words:
TNG Visa Card/ Ring = linked to TNG eWallet and Visa payment system.
Bank Visa Card = linked to your bank account or credit card facility.
TNG NFC Card = Touch ’n Go stored-value card for toll, parking and transit usage.

For the tapje.la NFC Payment Ring, supported card type may depend on the product model, batch availability and compatibility requirements. Please refer to the product page or our team’s instruction before sending any card for processing
